China - the impact on the UK

Posted by Charlie Johnston

With the recent trade visit to China there is clearly a strong desire by UK plc to continue to grow business connections with what is now seen as one of the key economic powerhouses on the global stage. Irrespective of the down turn in its ecomony, China's growth arguably is still stronger than alot of Western economies and is likely to be so for the considerable future.

The big question is 'what will be the benefit for the UK?' There are big key capital projects which could benefit from Chinese hard currency, the key question will be whether UK companies can bid for and obtain the work. The feeling with our clients is that there are great opportunities on the horizon, the key will be in ensuring that they have the right team in place to win the work and deliver it thereafter.
